Android Pay Goes Live

We all remember when Google unveiled the mobile wallet back in 2011. Eventually, Apple caught up and released their mobile payment service… but things started off pretty slow. Earlier this year Google Wallet merged with Softcard and the result, Android Pay, is finally available. The service went live yesterday at over 1,000,000 US locations. Like Apple Pay and Google Wallet, Android Pay utilizes the NFC chip in the phone and allows users to store payment cards in a mobile wallet. This is Google’s next generation payment service.
