Windows Event Yields New Surface & Lumia Devices

Microsoft held a Windows Special Event earlier today in New York. The event yielded some new mobile devices. As expected, the Surface tablet received an update. The new Surface Pro 4, as it is called, features a 12.3″ screen and will sell for $899. They also threw everyone for a loop when they released the Surface Book alongside the the tablet. As the name infers, the Surface Book is a laptop version of Microsoft’s tablet. The Surface Book will sell for $1499. Both devices go on sale later this month.

Moving on to the Lumia line, Microsoft unveiled two new smartphones today, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The two handsets feature 5.2″ and 5.7″ screens respectively. Both come with 32 GB storage and sport the new USB type C charger. They’ll sell for $549 and $649 respectively (sans contract of course). Finally, Microsoft updated their smartwatch, known as the Band (shown above), at the event. The new wearable device adds new features but keeps the same $249 price tag. It goes on sale later this month.

All in all, this was a big day for Windows 10 fans. Microsoft seems to be serious about the hardware market. They now offer Microsoft-branded smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops. Watch out Google. icon wink Windows Event Yields New Surface & Lumia Devices
