NFL’s Surface Tablets Fail During Playoff Game

Microsoft has been pushing their Surface Pro tablets with aggressive advertising campaigns and lots of exposure. The NFL uses the mobile devices on the sidelines and in the press booth for their televised games. However, the football league experienced an odd situation yesterday when the tablets malfunctioned during a playoff game. “They’re having some trouble with their Microsoft Surface tablets,” said reporter Evan Washburn during the Sunday showdown between New England and Denver. Evidently the tablets were unusable for several minutes and it occurred at an inconvenient time when they’re functionality was needed. Microsoft has cited network connectivity issues, not faulty hardware, for the outage, but it still looked incredibly bad Microsoft. Reportedly, many NFL players have had difficulties with the tablets in the past.
