WhatsApp Comes To The Desktop

Popular messaging application WhatsApp has finally crawled into the desktop territory. The app has long been a favorite of mobile users, but now supports traditional operating systems as well. They just released versions for Mac OS X (10.9 and later) and Windows (8 and later). It is important to note that the application does not work without a mobile handset. As a prerequisite, users must have the app installed on their mobile phone and phone must be connected to a data network. So, its not a full-fledged desktop version per se, its more of a desktop-based manager for the mobile app. Still, this will make a lot of WhatsApp users very happy.
