Chromebooks Outsold MacBooks Last Quarter

Most of us remember when Google unveiled the Chromebook back in 2011. Since then there’s been a lot of support and a lot of opposition, but it appears Chromebooks are here to stay. Major manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, and Acer are all making Chromebooks and they are selling quite well. In fact, Chromebooks actually outsold MacBooks during Q1 of 2016. During the first three months of 2016, approximately 2.0 Million Chromebooks were purchased worldwide. During the same time period, Apple sold 1.67 Million MacBooks. It’s not entirely surprising that a device made by a handful of manufacturers is outselling a single device made solely by Apple. However, it is interesting that this never happened before last quarter.
