OSHWA To Begin Certifiying Hardware

The Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA) was formed several years ago following the popularity of Raspberry Pi and other open source platforms. The organization’s mission is simple, develop and promote open source hardware platforms. Since then, major players like Intel, Raspberry Pi, Sparkfund, and others have endorsed OSHWA. Now they want to create standards for open source hardware manufacturers and certify devices accordingly. The organization hopes this will spur development of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. While this is not entirely unexpected, it is interesting news.
