$50 Nook Comes Loaded With Spyware

Just in time for Christmas, Barnes & Noble (B&N) released a $50 version of the popular Nook tablet. While this seemed like a good business strategy going into the holiday shopping season, news recently broke indicating the unit is loaded with spyware. Reportedly, the malicious software, called ADUPS, is pre-installed on B&N’s Android-based image. It can permit a remote attacker to retrieve data from the device, steal passwords, and even erase it. Jeez. Talk about an unhappy holiday. icon sad $50 Nook Comes Loaded With Spyware
