Now that the Consumer Electornics Show (CES) and the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) have concluded, it’s time for the North American Music Merchants (NAMM) expo to ramp up. Musical instrument vendors from all over the world have flocked to Anaheim, California to show off their latest products, both hardware and software. One such announcement comes from Apple, who updated both Logic Pro X for MacOS and GarageBand for iOS.

GarageBand received the company’s Alchemy synthesizer emulation which was added to Logic Pro X in 2015. They also redesigned the sound browser to make it more intuitive. Logic Pro X got some powerful updates as well. Among them is support for the Touch Bar interface revealed with the latest MacBook Pro model. Both updates are free for existing users.
