Verizon stopped offering unlimited data plans in 2011. AT&T followed suit and before long, it seemed like a thing of the past for the country’s biggest providers. T-Mobile, hell bent on beating the big dogs, gladly instated their own unlimited data plans and Sprint jumped on that bandwagon as well. Now it appears the idea has returned as Verizon recently unveiled an $80 plan which includes unlimited text/talk/data.
Rival AT&T has been offering unlimited data plans for a while provided the customer has a DirecTV subscription. Almost immediately after Verizon’s announcement, T-Mobile added a second line option to their unlimited data pricing which certainly tips the scales in their favor. Undoubtedly, AT&T and Sprint are already prepping new pricing options as well.
