Get Ready For Windows On ARM… Round II

Many of us remember Windows RT… and many of us don’t. Microsoft killed the OS back in the Windows 8 days because it was a lot of work to support and it didn’t really catch on. The OS allowed Windows to run on ARM architecture and Microsoft even released the Surface RT line of tablets to showcase it. Alas, x86 won the battle and this hardware was phased out in 2013.

Everyone thought the days of Windows on ARM had officially come to an end. However, it appears Microsoft is ready to try again. The recent release of Windows 10 S shows their moving towards a lightweight OS and analysts suspect ARM support is coming soon. This may be another step in their epic battle with Chromebooks. Get ready for round II.
