E3 Announcements: XBox Kinect, PlayStation Move, Nintendo 3DS

The E3 Expo was happening in Los Angeles this week. Many announcements were made and many new products were demo’d, but here is a wrap up of the big ones. Enjoy.

Microsoft XBox 360 (& Kinect controller): Microsoft released the newest XBox, and the Kinect controller (3-D motion sensor), which was formerly code-named project Natal. Improvements include integrated Wi-Fi, HDMI output, and, of course, faster graphics. The new XBox is fully 3-D capable.

Sony PlayStation Move: As expected, Sony took at stab at the Wii market and introduced the new PlayStaion Move for PS3. It’s a motioned controller for the PlayStation… and it’s freakin’ sweet!

Nintendo 3DS: The Nintendo DS got a huge bonus… 3-D capability (without the need for 3-D glasses). This new handheld also adds 802.11 base station support, so you can have a LAN party on the go. Now that’s clever.
