Microsoft: Windows Phone Is Now “Immaterial”

During Microsoft’s quarterly earnings call yesterday, the company called their Windows Phone business “immaterial.” The revenue from this portion of the company has shrunk $361 Million in just one year. Ouch! That said, the company has not given up on the mobile operating system just yet. They recently announced they’re keeping it around despite the disappointing numbers. However, the product seems to headed the way of the dodo and will probably disappear in the not too distant future. So much for IDC’s predictions from 2014, huh?
