AMD Ryzen Threadriper CPU Breaks Record!

AMD is about to release their Ryzen Threadripper 16-core processor. The chip is clocked at 3.4 GHz out of the box with a maximum speed of 4.2 GHz. However, AMDs engineers wanted to see what the chip was really capable of, so they overclocked it and were able to reach a whopping 5.2 GHz. This required liquid nitrogen cooling, so you probably won’t be doing it at home. In any case, the chip was able to achieve a Cinebench score of 4122. This shattered the previous record for a 16-core CPU which was 2867. Wow!
