Microsoft just released a new Windows Server Preview and it includes a somewhat odd-sounding feature. Windows Subsystem for Linux is a compatibility layer that allows Windows-based systems to execute Linux-based code. This means Windows administrators can run the same tools they use on Linux-based servers. It’s a pretty cool idea that debuted with the anniversary update of Windows 10. Now it’s making its way into the Server OS as well. Reportedly, the first version has some bugs, but inevitably they’ll get those worked out.
