Yes, you read correctly, NASA has released a new video game called Moonbase Alpha. Now… before you go thinking NASA has lost their minds, it is important to note that the game is intended to be an educational tool. The gamer becomes a “first person explorer” on a moon base and must perform tasks like repairing equipment, restoring oxygen supplies, and building robots. Hmmm… I’m not sure if this qualifies as science news, IT news, or entertainment news. In any case, the game is available as a free download from NASA’s website.
