Tiny Nuclear Reactors May Power Mars Settlements

NASA and the Department of Energy (DoE) are working on a joint project to create tiny nuclear reactors. A Uranium cylinder approximately the size of a coffee can will provide the power source. All in all, they expect the working reactor to be approximately the size of a wastebasket. NASA is eyeing this technology for powering Mars settlements in the future.
