Geek Of The Week: Ksenija Sidorova

The accordion has long been a musical instrument associated with geeks. From Steve Urkel to Krist Novoselic, numerous geeks have wielded this awkward noisemaker. This week’s GOTW is one of the world’s most accomplished accordionists, Ksenija Sidorova. Born in Latvia, Sidorova started playing the accordion at age 8. Encouraged by her grandmother, she went on to study music. Sidorova has a masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London and started her professional music career shortly after graduating. Today, she performs regularly in Europe (and beyond) being dubbed an international ambassador of the accordion. If that’s not geeky, I don’t know what is? Now she can add GOTW to her list of accolades.
