High-end stereo maker Bose just unveiled an Alexa-powered device. The new Home Speaker 500 stands about 8″ tall and retails for $400. It is intended to compete with other high end smartspeakers like Apple’s HomePod or Google’s HomeMax, not the $49 Echo Dot. Bose claims their device has the widest dynamic range of any smartspeaker on the market. The company also unveiled the Soundbar 500/700 which is designed to sit in front of a TV. These units will sell for $550 and $800 respectively. They hit store shelves in October.
