Fake Flash Update Turns PCs Into Bitcoin Miners

There’s a relatively new type of malware out there that’s being dubbed cryptojacking software. The malicious programs typically masquerade as an Adobe Flash updater, something users are used to seeing. Installing it doesn’t update Flash, it installs malware that turns the PC into a bitcoin, or other cryptocurrency, miner. The PCs free CPU cycles are used to mine coins for a third party. It’s not really that different from the SETI@home concept, except the user is unaware.
