Apple Unveils New Hardware

Apple’s second special event in as many months happened this morning in New York. As predicted, the company released new hardware during the event. The Macbook Air, Mac mini, and iPad Pro lines all got updates. First, the iPad Pro got a facelift along with a number of new features. Tim Cook called it the biggest improvement in the last 8 years. The devices will come is two sizes, 11″ and 12.9″. They will sell for $799 and $999 respectively.

Next, an updated Macbook Air was unveiled. It keeps the 13.3″ screen but is thinner and lighter than its predecessors. This machine starts at $1199 and does away with the TouchBar. Finally, the Mac mini got an update, though the industrial design is quite similar, the specs were increased significantly. Apple claims the new version is five times faster than the previous incarnation. It starts at $799. All 3 devices are currently available for pre-order and are expected to hit stores next week.
