Rogue Software On Military PCs? Probably.

A recent report from the Department of Defense (DoD) shows the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force do not have a great system for accounting of software. In fact, it appears 30% of the military’s software inventory is completely unreported. The DoD’s report found duplicate and obsolete software versions are actually common. These out-of-date versions could increase cybersecurity risks for the sensitive data used on these systems. The DoD made several recommendations which include software accounting and auditing programs.
