Microsoft To Sell Webcams In 2019

Microsoft added facial recognition to Windows 10 back in 2015. However, the feature is just now starting to catch on. It’s a way to login to your PC using your face instead of a username/password combination. This works great on Microsoft devices that have a built-in camera, like the Surface line of tablets, but doesn’t all work with third party hardware. Rumor has it, Microsoft plans to change that. The firm will reportedly release a line of webcams in 2019. Needless to say, these devices will be Windows Hello capable to add this feature to any PC. If you’re thinking, “hey didn’t Microsoft used to have a family of webcams,” you would be correct. The company used to make webcams but discontinued them due to low sales. Is the second time a charm?
