Microsoft Re-brands Office App For Windows 10

Microsoft has re-branded their Office app for Windows 10. What was called “My Office” is now just called “Office”. This may be a bit underwhelming, but there is logic behind it. First of all, the My Office app encourages users to subscribe to Office365 making almost no mention of the free versions of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. In fact, most Windows users don’t even realize there are free options. Additionally, Microsoft claims the My prefix led people to believe the app was part of Windows. This could be the result of user conditioning after years of My Computer, My Documents, etc. In any case, Office is a separate app and Microsoft wants to make that clear to end users.
