Google Announces Stadia

Last week, we reported that Google may be releasing a game console at the 2019 Game Developer’s Conference (GDC). It turns out they did not announce a console, but they announced a new gaming platform called Stadia. The cloud-based platform allows game play across multiple operating systems, devices, and interfaces.

Google also released a new game controller, shown above, designed to work with many different devices. They did not announce pricing for the Stadia service or the controller during the launch event. However, they did mention it will arrive later this year.
