Amazon Updates Entry-level Kindle

If you go back in time around 2010-2012, it seemed like new e-readers were constantly being released. Amazon and Barnes & Nobel were battling it out for the crown and several niche players were trying to compete. While there has been some e-reader innovation since then, the releases have been spaced out by a few years (e.g. the Kindle Oasis in 2016). However, Amazon just shook things up a bit by adding a premium feature to an entry-level device. The company added a backlit display to their $89 Kindle model. Previously, buyers had to upgrade to the $129 Kindle Paperwhite to get this option. The other specs include a 6″ screen, 4 GB storage, and WiFi connectivity.
