Geek Of The Week: Howard Stark

With Avengers: Endgame currently in theaters, I thought it was time we added Howard Stark to our list of celebrated geeks. He is the father of famed Avenger and former GOTW, Tony Stark. Howard started Stark Industries 1939 and worked closely with the American government during WWII. He was part of the project the created Captain America and also studied HYDRA technology. Howard Stark and Soviet scientist Anton Vanko developed the arc reactor which is what later saved Tony Stark’s life. He was accused of selling weapons to US enemies, but later cleared of the charge when it was discovered he was framed by Johann Fennhoff. Alas, Stark and his wife Maria were assassinated by Bucky Barnes in an effort to destroy all knowledge of the serum that created Captain America. Tony was merely 21 at the time, but ended up running Stark Industries and becoming Iron-Man. Howard Stark is a major force in the Marvel universe and he makes an appearance in the latest film.
