On the eve of the Uber IPO, many analysts are asking what the company is really worth. The numbers show a $80-90 Billion valuation, which would be the largest since 2014, but how can a company that has never turned a profit be worth this much? The San Francisco based company was founded in 2009 and is currently operating in 785 metro areas worldwide. That said, they’ve never made money. As of last year, the company reported $11.7 Billion in income with a $1.8 Billion net loss. While they have a lot of good ideas and a strong brand, the numbers just don’t support a successful IPO. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
