Most of us remember when T-Mobile and Sprint agreed to terms back in 2018. However, that was just the start of things. From there, a number of regulatory bodies have to approve the merger and that still hasn’t happened. In fact, they’re currenlty facing some major antitrust hurdles from the Department of Justice (DoJ). Simply stated, the DoJ doesn’t think the merger would be good for US consumers. They see this merger as a potential way to raise prices. The DoJ says they would be open to the companies creating a new carrier, but neither of them want to do that. At this point, it looks like the merger may not happen.
