New AI Solves Rubik’s Cube In 1 Second

Researchers at the University of California have been experimenting with a form of artificial intelligence (AI) that can solve complex puzzles. DeepCubeA, is capable of solving a Rubik’s Cube along with Sokoban, Lights Out, and other similar games. The AI “learned on its own” according to researchers involved with the project. So how good is it? In over 1,000 iterations, DeepCubeA was able to solve a Rubik’s Cube puzzle in an average of 28 moves. For reference, its takes a human around 50 moves to do the same task. It has solved the puzzle in as little as 1 second.
