YouTube Fined $170 Million For Software Oversight

YouTube (and its parent Google) was fined $170,000,000 this week for failing to protect Children’s privacy. The way the company’s software works, it collects data about the user to target ads. However, there was no opt out of users under the age of 13, despite the fact that YouTube asks this. This oversight led to an expensive outcome.
