NordVPN Says They Were Hacked

Virtual private network provider NordVPN recently announced they were compromised by a third party. Details are still a bit sketchy but its looks as thought an unauthorized party gained access to a private key belonging to one of NordVPN’s servers. This may have allowed them to masquerade as NordVPN and steal customer data. In this day of user privacy and data collection, VPN providers such as NordVPN are often recommended to keep data private, but this is a case where it went all wrong. Obviously, the privacy implications are huge. We’ll know more as the details of the hack emerge.
