Blue Origin Commits To Putting Us (Back) On The Moon

Elon Musk’s SpaceX venture has certainly had a lot of press in recent years. However, we shouldn’t forget Blue Origin, another private spaceflight firm owned by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. In 2017, the firm announced plans to put humans back on the Moon. Their plans are not just for government missions either, they feel a lunar settlement is in the not too distant future.

Now the company has announced a partnership with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Draper that will get manned landers on to the Moon’s surface. The four-way partnership will result in technology that NASA may be able to use as soon as 2024. While we’re still decades away from colonization, Blue Origin feels this is the correct way to return to the Moon.
