Study Finds 5G Smartphones Are Too Expensive

A recent study from NPG indicates less than 10% of US consumers are spending $1000 or more on a smartphone. While this news isn’t entirely surprising to most people, its good to see some statistics that support the obvious trend. However, there is a deeper message that echoes the recent decline in smartphone sales. Nearly all 5G-capable devices are over $1000 so this pricing is slowing the adoption of 5G. Ironically, the same study found 75% of consumers are aware of 5G, so they’re making a conscious choice to avoid it.
