Windows 10 Sales Spike Amid Windows 7 Sunset

Microsoft released their quarterly report last week and their revenue is up. A good bit of the profit is not attributed to O365 or Azure, but to Windows. Commercial operating system sales show a 27% increase in revenue compared to the same quarter just one year ago. Undoubtedly, the sunset of Windows 7 is somewhat responsible for the trend. Microsoft credits the resolution of an Intel chip supply issue and large manufacturing purchases – to avoid upcoming tariffs – for the sudden spike in sales.
