New Apple Patent Shows The Future Of Foldable Phones

Foldable phones are abuzz again as Escobar just released their second design Samsung could be on the verge of releasing a Z-shaped smartphone later this month. However, it may be worth waiting to see what Apple has up their sleeve. The company was recently granted a patent depicting a new type of smartphone hinge, shown above. The design uses a flexible display surface and movable flaps which permit the device to fold with no gap. This would be a game changer if they could implement this technology inexpensively. However, many analysts fear it will be cost prohibitive and could lead to $2000+ handsets.
