Microsoft Tanks Another Windows Update

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of failed Windows Updates. Symptoms have included black screens, CPU spikes, and much worse. Now Windows 10 users who installed KB4532693 are reporting deleted files. Evidently there is a problem with how it reads the user directory structure and many folks have rebooted to find personal files missing. Some users have been able to recover their data. Oh Microsoft! Why does this keep happening?
