The Windows Control Panel May Be Going Away

When Windows 8 arrived in 2012, it included a new configuration page called simply Settings. The familiar Control Page was still there, but many configuration tasks could be done from the Settings app. Now we’re seeing hints that the traditional Control Panel is going the way of the dodo. It may disappear from a future Windows 10 Update and will almost certainly be absent in the next Windows OS when it ships. That probably isn’t really a surprise to most people.
