It’s patch Tuesday and Microsoft has released a whopper! The latest Windows 10 update fixes 111 vulnerabilities in the operating system (and other core products). However, this is not the largest, or even the second largest, OS patch Microsoft has released. The largest was released in March 2020 and the second largest in April 2020 – with 113 and 115 bug fixes respectively. So that means Microsoft’s 3 largest OS patches ever have all happened in the last 3 months. Sheesh! Is this a commentary on the evolving threat landscape during the global lockdown, or a sad story about the operating system’s security?
