Strange as it may seem, Google is partnering with OS virtualization company Parallels to bring Windows apps to the Chromebook. The details are pretty sketchy at this point, but most analysts feel they’ll develop a way to run Windows apps on ChromeOS and not to run a full version of Windows on top of ChromeOS. This presents a number of challenges, as Chromebooks are already low power devices and Windows tends to require a bit more horsepower. It will be interesting to see how they pull this off.
