Geek Of The Week: Peggy Carter

Geek Of The Week: Peggy Carter

2001’s Captain America film showcased the first Avenger, but also introduced us to Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) Agent Peggy Carter. Marvel later came out with a TV series that focused on her storyline called simply, Agent Carter. I recently binge watched this series while being quarantined at home and I was impressed. The story lines were very good and the episodes taught us a lot more about the only female SSR agent. For instance, we learn her name is actually Margaret Elizabeth and her only brother, who died while fighting Nazis during World War II, gave her the nickname Peggy. Carter started her career as a codebreaker, showed promise in many areas of espionage, and later became good friends with Howard Stark (former GOTW). Carter helped him clear his named after Stark was wrongfully accused of treason. The pair went on to form the┬áStrategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (SHIELD).
