Microsoft Adds Third-Party App Integration To Teams

The global pandemic has millions of non-essential workers relying on virtual meetings day in and day out. Apps like Skype and Zoom have seen a huge increase in popularity, as has Microsoft’s competitor Teams. To boost popularity, Microsoft is now allowing third-party developers to integrate with Teams. This opens new doors like being able to share a single app within Teams without needing to share your screen. Additionally, apps could display content during a Teams meeting or produce widgets like a stopwatch to keep track of time on screen. There are a lot of possibilities and Microsoft claims developers are excited about the new capabilities.
