Google One Backs Up Your iPhone For Free

Google One, the cloud storage service, went online in 2018. It’s a competitor to Dropbox, Box, and others. However, the company just unveiled a feature that will make it more valuable to iPhone users. The iOS app now allows you to back up your device for free. Google includes 15 GB of storage with the standard plan. Users can upgrade to 100 GB of storage for $1.99/month.

Previous to this, the only easy option for iPhone users was to purchase Apple’s $1.99 iCloud plan. It will be interesting to see if Apple drops the price or ups the storage amount to counter. The backup app works on Android devices too, but it will undoubtedly be more valuable to iOS users.
