Apple Fined $113 Million For 2017 Battery Scandal

Many of us remember the iPhone battery scandal from 2017. Reportedly, Apple throttled older iPhones to compensate for degraded batteries causing unavoidable performance decreases. The company was sued 3 years ago but the case is just now being resolved. Plaintiffs in 34 states alleged Apple did this to force users into buying a new phone and also lied about the practice. The case was settled this week and Apple will pay a total of $113 Million to the states raising the suit.
