Neverware, a New York based software firm, just announced they’ve been acquired by Google. Neverware’s popular CloudReady application can be used to load ChromeOS on to most older PCs effectively turning them into Chromebooks.
The concept is quite simple. Just because your computer is too old to run a modern version of Windows, doesn’t mean it can’t run a recent iteration of ChromeOS. Neverware’s app allows you to analyze, load, and setup the PC in one fell swoop. The company has marketed itself to the corporate and education sectors, allowing them to put old PCs back to work instead of sending them to the scrap heap.
