Raspberry Pi has been bringing us low cost computers since 2012. Now they’re offering a new piece of hardware that isn’t a computer… well… not exactly. The Raspberry Pi Pico is a microcontroller the uses a custom chip known as the RP2040, designed by Raspberry Pi.
The $4 circuit board has dual-core ARM Cortex CPU running at 133 MHz and 264 KB of RAM. It also has DMA controller and 30 GPIO pins to interface with the outside world. It’s pretty cool if you’re into open source hardware or just like DIY electronic projects. Learn more at www.RaspberryPi.org.
