Sony released the PlayStation 5 (PS5) in November and it quickly sold out. Unsurprisingly, gamers wanted it! Sony managed to sell 4.5 Million PS5 units by the end of the 2020. This seems like it would be good news for Sony, but many analysts are now saying Sony is actually losing money.
The estimates say a PS5 costs about $450 to build. Being that the prices for the two models are $399 and $499, it would make sense that Sony is more-or-less breaking eve on the more expensive PS5 and losing money on the entry-level model.
