WhatsApp Changes Privacy Policy

WhatsApp Changes Privacy Policy

Users of WhatsApp are about to experience a change in privacy policy. As you’d probably expect, the change works out in the favor of parent company Facebook and not the consumer. The new changes will permit Facebook to gain access to some date within the app and share it with partners.

There has been tension between WhatsApp and Facebook since the app’s founder told everyone it was time to delete Facebook in 2018. The company once had a very tough stance on user privacy. In the wake of the 2016 FBI/Apple debacle, WhatsApp expanded their encryption capabilities to protect users. This is a sad era for many privacy advocates.
