We’ve all heard stories about Windows Phone 7 (WP7) being ‘the next big thing’ in mobile operating systems. According to industry predictions, it will overtake Blackberry and iOS by 2015. Despite all the predictions, WP7’s market share remains low.
In March of this year, news broke that Microsoft was paying Nokia $1 billion to create WP7 handsets. More recent news suggested that Microsoft was spending millions to train phone carrier sales staff on WP7. Now, CNN has posted an article claiming Nokia is paying developers for WP7 applications which will run on their phones.
What’s next? Are they going to pay the consumer to take the phone?
