Apple’s M1 Macbooks Have 16+ Hours Battery Life

Apple has been touting the low power consumption of their M1 chips since they arrived at WWDC 2020. However, it looks like it’s so good Apple thought the battery indicator was broken during testing. The M1-powered Macbook lasted 16 hours and 25 minutes during Apple’s web surfing test. To put that in perspective, the best Intel-powered Macbook lasted 10 hours and 21 minutes. Apple’s VP of worldwide product marketing said, “When we saw that first system and then you sat there and played with it for a few hours and the battery didn’t move, we thought ‘Oh man, that’s a bug, the battery indicator is broken.’” Too funny.
